From the Desk of the Executive Director
Dear GLO Preemies Family,
As we embrace the hopeful beginnings that March brings, I am reminded of the strength and resilience that defines our community. Your support is the heartbeat of our mission, driving us forward in our endeavor to redefine the NICU experience for Black families, ensuring the provision of comprehensive care and unwavering support. This month, we shine a light on the strides made by our "40 Acres and a Mule" campaign, impart crucial nutrition and wellness insights, rejoice in the success of our CPS animated video, and extend an invitation to participate in the upcoming Embrace Ebony NICU Support group sessions.
40 Acres and a Mule: Charting a New Course in NICU Support
Our pioneering initiative, "40 Acres and a Mule," has made significant headway. Aimed at revolutionizing support for our cherished preemies and their families for up to 18 years post-birth, the campaign has gathered impressive momentum in raising awareness and funds. Through your kindness, we have reached $20,000 in donations. Special thanks to Prolacta Bioscience for their generous $10,000 donation, an anonymous NICU family for their heartfelt $5,000 contribution, and an anonymous donor-advised fund for another gracious $5,000. Each contribution moves us closer to our goal of offering holistic care that supports the medical, emotional, and developmental needs of our babies and their families.
Nutrition and Wellness: Pillars of a Healthy Beginning
This month's focus is on the pivotal role of nutrition and wellness for preemies and their caregivers. The journey through prematurity is filled with challenges but armed with the right knowledge on nutrition and wellness, we can navigate this path with confidence. Look out for expert advice, resources, and supportive guidance designed to promote the health and well-being of our GLO Preemies community.
Celebrating Our Impact: Over 2,000 Views of Our CPS Animated Video
We are delighted to announce that our CPS animated video has been viewed over 2,000 times! This milestone highlights the importance of sharing our stories and raising awareness about the unique challenges faced by NICU families. Thank you for your engagement and for helping to spread this crucial message.
Introducing New Animated Videos: Sharing Our NICU Journey
In our continuous effort to connect and relate to NICU families, we are excited to introduce a series of new animated videos. Crafted with heartfelt narratives and insights into the NICU experience, these videos aim to offer comfort, understanding, and a sense of community. We eagerly anticipate your feedback and reviews on this latest endeavor. Your input is invaluable as we strive to create resources that truly resonate with our families.
